The Lettuce Story (a follow-up to the lumberjack video)
Last week I had a conversation with my new friend, Famous Dave Anderson, founder of the Famous Dave’s BBQ restaurant chain. I admire his BBQ. He admires my books, particularly, Invaluable. After he watched my video about disciplining employees last week, he shared with me this insightful metaphor: When you plant lettuce, if it does not grow well, you don’t blame the lettuce. You look into the reasons it is not doing well. It may need fertilizer, or more water, or less sun.
