I’m an advocate that business owners find a mentor to work with. The combination of having a professional business coach along with a seasoned mentor is a powerful tool for your success. But how do you find a mentor?

The most important word is NETWORK. This means you go out and meet new people. You can attend industry events. You can even go to chambers of commerce or reach out to them via LinkedIn. But how do we reach out?

Many people ask a mentor “Can you help me?” Instead, go with an attitude of service—“How can I help you?” In fact, you may even offer your services or your product for free. This creates an opportunity where they see you want to help them first.

Apprenticeship is a great art. You can use it to your advantage in finding a mentor.
