Put your creative ideas on a “perhaps list” and stay focused.

What do you do with all those ideas swirling around in your head? Leaving them in your mind will reduce your ability to focus on your daily tasks. Yet, you don’t want to simply forget about them either.

I recommend creating what I call a “Perhaps list” to give your creative thoughts a temporary home. Then, schedule a regular time in your calendar to revisit this list and ask yourself these questions:

  1. Are there any items I’m ready to dismiss as a no? Remove those.
  2. Is there an idea I’m ready to make a commitment on?

If there’s an idea you’re ready to move forward on, schedule a task to get started. Repeat this cycle so that you don’t forget your ideas or let them clutter your mind.

What’s one idea you’d put on your perhaps list?
