How a budget can help you stop hoarding time

Do you know someone who struggles with hoarding?

An attendee approached me after an event in February and explained his challenges. He found himself unable to say “no,” and it was causing a rift in his marriage. My suggestion to him—and others dealing with this issue?

Rather than trying to entirely STOP the behavior, implement a budget.

  • First, determine the available time, or space, you’re willing to allow for random stuff. It will help you decide which is most valuable by forcing a choice.
  • Next, learn to prioritize: whenever you say yes to one thing, you must say no to something else.
