We all have a weakness…or two. It’s not the weakness that makes you weak, though. It’s how you handle it that matters.
Here’s an simple process for responding to a weakness:
- Decline – Say no to low value, avoidable ones.
- Minimize – Delegate low value, unavoidable ones.
- Develop – Utilize training for high value, learnable ones.
- Maximize – Highlight high value ones by using the associated strength.
Every weakness has the opportunity to be a strength with the right actions.
Are you ready to tackle your weakness?
If you’re looking for a more in-depth explanation of this concept, I break each response down in my course, “Turning Weaknesses into Strengths” on LinkedIn Learning. You can find it at davecrenshaw.com/weakness.
