Why you should stop overthinking networking and keep it simple

Keep it simple. Networking isn’t as hard or complicated as most of us think, yet the majority of us struggle with it. Thankfully I know one of the greatest networkers in the world.

While visiting Manhattan with my wife, we grabbed a delicious breakfast at a local cafe with my good friend, and fellow LinkedIn Learning instructor, Dean Karrel.

Dean always makes me feel like a VIP…but I’m not alone in that feeling. He treats EVERYONE with the same love and respect, no matter who you are or what you do. He’s also the most talented guy I know at networking and sales!

As he explains in the video, the key to effective networking is keeping it simple. When you meet someone new, start by asking questions, actively listening, and showing genuine interest in their work and passions. Most importantly, have fun with it!

What’s the best advice you’ve gotten for networking?

Everyone needs to understand the art of networking and genuine sales to be successful in business. You can learn from the master, Dean Karrel, with his many incredible courses on LinkedIn Learning, here: linkedin.com/learning/instructors/dean-karrel.

As always, you can work on building a foundation of excellent time management and optimal productivity with Dave’s courses, as well. You can see them all at davecrenshaw.com/learn.
