Use a notepad to store great ideas

“My brain needs an off switch! Too many ideas…not enough time.”

Ideas are wonderful. They’re also rude.

They’ll interrupt you whenever and wherever they please.

New ideas pop up while you’re writing an email.

Or in the middle of a meeting.
Or right when you finally sit down to focus.

And, if you DON’T gather them, they’ll keep interrupting you over and over and over and…well, you get the idea.

That’s why in my LinkedIn Learning course, Time Management Fundamentals, I recommend having up to six gathering points. One of the most underrated? A notebook.

It doesn’t need to be fancy. Just reliable.

Because the purpose isn’t to “organize your life” in the moment.

It’s to clear your mind so you can stay focused on your current task.

Then, during your scheduled processing time, you can review your ideas and decide what’s worth pursuing…and what to toss in the bin.

So… do you prefer a digital or a physical notebook?
