How to spot signs of depression that can save a life

I deal with depression and anxiety.

Mental health is an issue that is deeply personal to me and it’s always something I have to work on. This is why, when I heard Fonda Bryant’s incredible story, I had to reach out and speak with her. She’s QPR certified—meaning she offers training that saves lives.

She shared how ONE question can save the life of a friend, a coworker, or even a stranger.

We lose an average of 132 Americans every day to suicide, exceeding the number of deaths by car accidents and homicides combined. Become a safe place for others with just a few simple, life-changing actions:

  •  If you sense something isn’t right, ASK. “Are you alright?” can be enough to start a conversation.
  • Most importantly, listen without judgment or criticism.
  • If possible, take the person to a safe place away from work.
  • Encourage them to get help by sharing the NSP number – 1.800.273.8255

I can’t stress the importance of Fonda’s training enough. Every business should make it essential. Let’s save a life together.
