“I’m juggling too many things at once. I’m beyond overwhelmed!”

Sound familiar? If you’re nodding yes, you’re not alone. This year has been especially challenging, as many of us are thrown into new, stressful situations. It can be easy to get overwhelmed with not knowing which direction to focus your energy and time.

I decided to ask my friend and fellow LinkedIn Learning instructor, Mike Figliuolo, for some advice! His course, Critical Thinking, was one of the Top 20 Most Popular Courses this year. One of his strategies to avoid becoming overwhelmed with options is the 80/20 rule.

As Mike explains, the idea is to put your energy into the issues that have a higher impact on your overall goal. Spend more time on the 20% that drives 80% of the results you are trying to achieve.

In other words, focus the majority of your time on your most valuable activities.

What high-value work will you focus on today?
