How to Set Up Management Systems for Your Small Business

Small businesses thrive when they’re built on a sturdy structure. What happens when you take away that structure? Well, in no time, you’ll find yourself sitting on a mound of wood paneling and fiberglass insulation wondering what happened to your dreams. Your employees want to help you build. All you have to do is lay down the blueprint and watch that fledgling farmhouse transform into a viable Victorian.

This short and sweet 90-second slice tells you exactly how to lay the groundwork for fresh, flexible management systems. And it’s so easy that you’ll hate yourself for not thinking of it first…

Most entrepreneurs recognize the need for structure within their business. But where should you begin?

It’s helpful to think of management systems like building a home. You need to have a foundation. Then you need to create the framework, and then everything else.

First ,the foundation is an organization chart. These are all the different boxes that represent positions within your business. Positions represent things that need to done on a daily basis.

Number two are position agreements, sometimes called position descriptions. These are the framework of your business and they outline what the average employee does in a typical day.

Then, number three are systems. I recommend the use of single page systems. These fill in everything else in your house, all the fine details to make sure that we get consistent results.

So my question for you is—are you using all three of these management systems? Do you have an organization chart, position agreements, and systems? Please answer that in the comments section below.

Also, if you have a question you’d like me to answer in a future video, ask that below as well.

Thanks for watching. Now go get your house in order.
