Stop Procrastinating with This Trick

As hardworking as entrepreneurs are, it’s not uncommon for the wrong kind of procrastination to sneak in here and there. But getting to the heart of the matter is often the cause—and solution—for putting off productivity.

That’s why I go emo as we discuss how feelings affect procrastinating. And I’ll do it in less than 80 seconds, because, hey, isn’t this about saving you time?

Video transcription:

Emotion can have a huge impact on your ability to follow through with your tasks. It’s important to understand the right time to pay attention to emotion and the right time to ignore it.

Usually, at the point of scheduling a task, people feel happy. And at the point of doing it, they feel happy. And after they complete it, they feel happy.

But just before they’re about to do something, they feel uncomfortable. This is the brain’s natural mechanism to fight change.

It’s important for us to leap over the emotion that we feel just before doing something, because usually it’s not going to help us complete tasks.

So, what I’d like you to share in the comments section below is—what’s the next task that you have to perform on your calendar right now? And, what’s the emotion that you’re going to feel after completing that task?

Also, if you have any questions that you’d like me to answer in a future video, ask that in the comments section below as well.

Thanks for watching. Now take that leap.
