Working with remote employees—such as people who are out of the office or even in a different country—can have a lot of benefits. It can save you money, it can save you space. But how do you make that work?

Here are three tips that I found make remote employees very successful.

Number one is to meet regularly one-on-one via video such as Skype. This allows you to convey the non-verbal messages and make a little more human of a connection.

Number two is, have a regular reporting. This means that on a consistent basis, such as a weekly report, they’ve let you know what they’ve been working on and what challenges they ran into.

And finally, include them in the company culture. Just because they’re far away doesn’t mean that they can’t participate in humor and jokes and the activities that your business is doing. Help them feel unified with everyone else.

Now, I’d like you to share in the comments section below: what tips do you have to make work, work with remote employees?
