Building and improving your small business requires a few growing pains. But dwelling on those tiny slip-ups can stymie the growth of both you and your business.

Take a mere 90 seconds to find out why it’s more important to focus on progress, not perfection. Because every entrepreneur must learn to crawl before they can walk.

Sometimes business owners and their quest for success allow perfection to get in their way.

Now I have small children, and when they were learning to walk and they would stumble, I wouldn’t make fun of them or “beat them up.”

Yet, sometimes business owners allow that desire for success and perfection to get in the way of growth, because they’re beating themselves up. Instead, focus on progress not perfection.

This is why when I teach my clients to write systems, we always talk about the next draft. There is no perfect system—only the next draft.

Also, when you’re reviewing your numbers, rather than getting caught-up on the little ups and downs that take place between the months, look at the general trends. Is it going up, or is it going down?

This is why it’s very helpful to make yourself accountable to a third party. They can see the bigger picture that you sometimes will miss by yourself.

Now I’d love for you to share–in the comments section below–what progress have you made so far this year. Just brag a little.

And if you’ve got a question you’d like me to answer in a future video, ask that below as well.

Thanks for watching. Now go make some progress today.
