Why Busy Should be the New B Word

Entrepreneurs are brave, fearless, and tireless. They reap the rewards of effort and proudly wear the battle-scars of their persistence. And they should…except in one case.

One word comes often to their lips that isn’t a badge of honor, but a white flag of defeat. Pause just 77 seconds with me as we wage war on this disastrous declaration.

Allow me for a moment to destroy the “B” word. It’s coming up far too often in people’s vocabulary these days. And the word is BUSY.

Almost everyone, if you talk to them and say, “How are you doing?” will say, “Oh, I’m busy.” What do they really mean by that?

Well, they want people to perceive them as being important because they’re always doing something. But what they’re really declaring is they’re inefficient.

Productivity is more about rhythm than perpetual motion. It’ about getting results for the effort that you’re expending—not just continually working yourself constantly.

So, in the comments section below, I’d like you to share a different answer to this question. If I ask you “how are you doing”, you’re going to share what did you do [or are going to do] today. Give me the result, not the action.

Also if you’ve got a question you’d like me to answer, please ask that in the comments section below.

Thanks for watching and may you stay away from the “B” word.
